Application: Translating Recommendations and Findings into Effective Actions to Eliminate HIV/AIDS Stigma & Discrimination; and Maintain Hong Kong's Low HIV Prevalence for People of Different Gender, Sexuality, and Ethnicity
Applicant: Hong Kong AIDS Foundation
Objectives: The objectives of this project are:
  1. To enhance the prevention education on HIV and sexual health knowledge for MSM and encourage them practising safe sex;
  2. To arouse the awareness of early and regular VCT among MSM community and further promote Self-testing in order to raise the HIV testing rate;
  3. To advocate using PrEP as another effective self-protection measure from HIV infection and enhance the related education and promotion works for MSM; and
  4. To build up a healthy lifestyle and positive attitude towards sex among MSM community so as to reduce the chance of conducting high risk sexual behaviour and chemsex.
  5. To strengthen and enhance the overall message/ education of HIV prevention and sexual health for those who have high risk behaviours and are vulnerable to HIV and STD infection, especially female sex workers (FSW), their male clients (MCFSW), the spouses and partners of MCFSW, male members of ethnic minorities and young heterosexual adults;
  6. To promote safe sex practices, and early and regular HIV and STD testing as self-protection to the above target service users including their spouses;
  7. To provide professional and reliable HIV testing on a free, voluntary, anonymous and confidential basis, combined with the quality-assured services, including risk assessment, counselling, prevention education and instant emotional support; and
  8. To pilot the HIV self-testing scheme for the above service users not only to increase the overall testing rate in local communities but also to ensure people at-risk can be provided with self-testing kits to be used instantly and safely due to social distancing measures amid COVID-19.
  9. To raise awareness and educate about HIV/AIDS among EM in Hong Kong and encourage them practicing safe sex and regular testing;
  10. To provide a community-based testing service to the at-risk ethnic minorities groups
  11. To involve EM communities in HIV/AIDS prevention programs
  12. To establish an internal surveillance mechanism to observe the behavioural trends among EM service users.
