Application: "Empowerment and support services for people living with HIV (PLHIV)"
Applicant: Hong Kong AIDS Foundation
Objectives: The objectives of this project are:
  1. To provide a variety of necessary and timely psychosocial supporting services for PLHIV (especially for newly diagnosed) so as to help them sustain HIV treatment; actualise empowerment for the purpose of increasing their self-efficacy and acceptance; enrich their life skills in solving HIV related problems; and enhance their self-esteem and sense of well-being. Hence, we will also recruit them as peer educators and service providers for the PLHIV communities.
  2. To promote sexual health among PLHIV and help them maintain safer sex practice in order to achieve secondary prevention
  3. To provide services catering to the specific needs of PLHIV elderly & mature-aged PLHIV; and
  4. To involve PLHIV as peer educators and in voluntary services related to HIV prevention in self-help activities.
