Application: Kidney tubular dysfunction in tenofovir-treated HIV-infected individuals in Hong Kong

Applicant: Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Objectives: The objectives of this programme are:-
  1. to compare the prevalence of kidney tubular dysfunction (KTD) and decreased renal function between HIV-infected individuals receiving tenofovir and those not receiving tenofovir in Hong Kong;
  2. to determine the accuracy of various urine biomarkers in diagnosing KTD; and
  3. to determine risk factors associated with the development of KTD in HIV-infected individuals in Hong Kong.
