MSS 229 R
Application: Quantification of population viral load and its temporal changes in subpopulation transmission networks for projecting the HIV epidemic in Hong Kong (Executive Summary submitted by the applicant)
Applicant: Stanley Ho Centre for Emerging Infectious Diseases, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Objectives: The objectives of this programme are:-
  1. quantifying population viral load and assessing their temporal changes over a 20-year period in Hong Kong;
  2. characterizing transmission networks in MSM subpopulations by evaluating viral load changes and phylogenetic studies;
  3. modelling and making projections on HIV epidemiology at population and subpopulation levels; and
  4. developing analysis on the impacts of public health interventions on the epidemiologic patterns as derived from viral load and phylogenetic assessments.
Project Duration: July 2014 to June 2016
