Application: HIV Intervention Targeting Marginal Minorities in the MSM Community
Applicant: The Society for the Aid and Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers
Objectives: The aims of this programme are:-
  1. to provide a community friendly and convenient location for a blood testing station;
  2. to actively encourage more MSM to have blood testing;
  3. to raise awareness of HIV and advocate safe sex practices every time;
  4. to stop the spread of HIV by encouraging early HIV testing with counselling to MSM.
  5. to identify marginalized teenage MSM who are sexually active in Hong Kong;
  6. to provide social support and help improve their lives, so they can see a better future;
  7. to construct peer support networks to reinforce the importance of maintaining health;
  8. to provide HIV, AIDS, STI and safe sex education to marginalized teenage MSM;
  9. to have marginalized teenage MSM access VCT within the project.
  10. to identify MSM who attend sex parties in Hong Kong;
  11. to make connections with MSM who attend sex parties;
  12. to provide HIV intervention at sex parties with trained counsellors;
  13. to change the attitude of MSM who attend sex parties to self caring and promote safer sex practices;
  14. to have MSM who participate in sex parties receive VCT within the project.
  15. to reduce new HIV infections among Ethnic Minority (EM) MSM in HK;
  16. to increase awareness of HIV risk among EM MSM;
  17. to affect the use of safe sex practices among EM MSM;
  18. to have EM MSM access VCT within the project.
  19. To provide HIV, AIDS, STI and safe sex education designed for Transgender people;
  20. To provide social support and foster peer networks for Transgender people so they can have healthier lives and positive life attitudes;
  21. To raise awareness of HIV/AIDS, STI among Transgender People in Hong Kong;
  22. To have Transgender people in Hong Kong receive VCT within the project.
